McLaren has teamed up with renowned luggage manufacturer Samsonite to produce a new range of luxury travel bags, which were launched to the public this week. Designed around the rigorous travel schedule of a modern-day Formula One team, the bags are tough, secure and lightweight, and have been praised for “[combining the] reliability of Samsonite with a stylish twist”. The entire McLaren race team has been using the bags all season, a testament to their strength and durability.

Although the range will only be available exclusively at two stores until the end of this month (Selfridges Oxford Street and Manchester Exchange Square), they will be rolled out to selected Samsonite stockists from December onwards. The collection consists of five different models, ranging from £55 to £245. Designed and manufacturered in collaboration with Samsonite's Black Label division, the entire collection comes in black only, but is trimmed with McLaren's signature colour, rocket red.

A review of the collection in last weekend's Sunday Telegraph praised their reliability, durability and design. “The collection combines the reliablity of Samsonite with the sleek lines of Formula 1,” read the review. “Only available in stylish black with rocket red trim, the bags demonstrate great attention to detail... It looks good, too, with a glossy leather handle and discreet branding.”
