Thu, 19 November, 2009Bianchi to test for Ferrari at Jerez

Formula 3 Euroseries champion Jules Bianchi will make his F1 test debut at the forthcoming young driver test, with Ferrari confirming the 20-year-old will test their F60 for two days at the start of next month. Bianchi was a guest of Ferrari's at this year's Belgian Grand Prix, and is managed by Nicolas Todt, the son of newly-elected FIA president and former Ferrari team principal Jean Todt.

Bianchi dominated this year's F3 Euroseries championship, winning nine times and finishing almost 40 points clear of his nearest rival in the standings, propelling him into a GP2 seat with champions ART for 2010. Already he is being tipped to progress to F1 in 2011, despite only starting in single-seater racing in 2007, when he won the French Formula Renault championship. He then finished third in his rookie F3 season last year.

The young driver test takes place between December 1 and 3, with Bianchi taking to the wheel for the first two days. Ferrari has devoted the final day to the top three finishers of this year's Italian F3 championship - Italians Daniel Zampieri and Marco Zioli and Mexican Pablo Sanchez Lopez - all of whom will share the F60 for the day.
