Thu, 29 July, 2010Warwick returns as race steward for Hungary

Former F1 driver Derek Warwick is returning to the Formula One stewards' panel for this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, having last been an official steward at the Spanish Grand Prix in May. He is the second driver to appear as a steward for a second time this year.

Warwick spent 11 years in Formula One, driving for Toleman, Renault, Brabham, Arrows, Lotus and Footwork between 1981 and 1993. Although the 55-year-old never won a world championship Grand Prix, he did manage to finish on the podium four times, including two second places. His highest championship placing was seventh with Renault in 1984. Like many fellow F1 drivers, Warwick dabbled in touring cars and sports cars after retiring.

Warwick will be joined by regular stewards Radovan Novak and Enzo Spano along with Lajos Herczey, the national steward for Hungary.
