Red Bull's Mark Webber says the oil consumption problem he encountered in last weekend's German Grand Prix is of no concern to the reliability of his engine, after helping save the engine in the closing stages of the race. His engine was suffering from a high oil consumption rate from early on in the German Grand Prix, requiring him to change his driving style and drop back from the driver ahead. However, speaking in Budapest this afternoon ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, Webber insisted the oil problem in the last race was of no concern to the engine. “Zero,” he said when asked how much of a concern the engine was. “We are very happy with how the engine finished the race. All the oil analysis looked very good, so we were very lucky that it got home with no problems. “Obviously we switched the engine off very early after the race and we did everything that we could to manage the engine during the Grand Prix, to make sure it did not have any problems with the oil.” He explained that the problem centred around the oil refill system, but that the problem has now been located and fixed ahead of this weekend's race. “It was on the refill on the oil on the consumption, the refill system wasn't really working,” he continued. “We had a consumption problem with that so we had to manage it in different ways. We found the problem and it's been fixed.” | |||
