Pastor Maldonado and Sergio Pérez will share the final row of the Monaco Grand Prix grid later today after both incurring five-place grid penalties for unscheduled gearbox changes.

Pérez qualified his Sauber in last place on the grid yesterday after crashing out of Q1 with a mechanical problem, while Maldonado was due to start 19th because of a 10-place grid penalty he earned during final practice.

With Sauber having notified the FIA first of their gearbox change, Pérez effectively gains a place on the grid as it is his which is applied first. Maldonado's penalty promotes Pérez to 23rd, with the Venezuelan due to start 24th.

The provisional starting grid for this afternoon's race can be found here.
