For the first time this season, all drivers bar two stayed on the wet and extreme wet weather Bridgestone tyres throughout the 53-lap race. Adrian Sutil and Rubens Barrichello were the only drivers to try out the dry tyres, when they switched to the medium compound with ten laps to go in an attempt to salvage something from the weekend.
