Mon, 12 January, 2009

Brazil's Felipe Massa was privilidged with completing the first ever laps in a 2009 Formula One car when he took Ferrari's all-new F60 on its preliminary installation runs at Mugello this morning. At 10.35 local time, the F60, powered by the 056 engine, roared into life, successfully completing a single tour of the 5.245 km circuit.

Just 20 minutes later, Massa took to the track for a second time, completing another installation lap. The Brazilian will continue on-track for the rest of the day, as the team conducts the usual launch-day tests, such as systems checks and a general car evaluation.
