Mon, 12 January, 2009FIA release 2009 entry list

The FIA has today released the official entry list for the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship. The list confirms Sébastien Buemi as one of Toro Rosso's two drivers, while also confirming all the other teams' line-ups, with the exception of Honda, which is currently up for sale.

Although the entry list has few surprises, with Robert Kubica taking the number 5 car at BMW ahead of Nick Heidfeld who will sport number 6, Ferrari have opted to award Kimi Räikkönen with the number 3, despite finishing behind team-mate Felipe Massa in the 2008 championship, who will race with number 4. It's a similar story at Red Bull, with Mark Webber, who finished behind Vettel in the championship, earning number 14, and Vettel number 15. World champion Lewis Hamilton will wear number 1 for the duration of the 17-race calendar.

The FIA also confirmed Force India's switch in engine supplier from Ferrari to Mercedes.
