Sun, 10 May, 2009Formula One's credit card launched in Barcelona

Formula One now has an official credit card, after Corpcom and Formula One Administration (FOA) launched the 'F1 Card' at an event in Barcelona on Saturday. Unveiled at the Spanish Grand Prix weekend by Corpcom CEO Hischam Telib and FOA CEO Bernie Ecclestone, the card is due to be released in selected markets throughout 2009, before being sent worldwide in 2010.

Marketed as the 'Official Formula One payment card', fans will be able to avail of exclusive deals on tickets, travel and merchandise, along with offering savings on everyday purchases, special privileges, global benefits and 'money-can't-buy' experiences.

The design of the F1 card features a truly striking image of a Formula One car rendered in gleaming black giving it a stylish and contemporary image that stands out from the crowd. The pattern on the back of the card references the unmistakable texture of carbon fibre.

Hischam Telib, CEO of Corpcom:
“In the current economic climate consumers are more thoughtful about their spending habits. The F1 Card will reward fans by providing exclusive benefits and services that translate into real-world savings and allowing Formula 1 and it partners to give back to their loyal supporters. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to make such a fantastic, innovative project a reality.”
