In numerous interviews now, the 27-year-old has openly spoken about his affection for Ferrari. The latest is with the Italian broadcaster Sky. “When we become professional drivers, we all want to have one of those cars,” the 2005 and 2006 world champion said in Istanbul. “Why is it a dream of the drivers? I don't know: it is a strange thing. When you're a child you always play with the red cars ... it is a colour, a machine, a brand that means racing, means formula one, means competition,” Alonso added.
