Fri, 12 June, 2009Red Bull teams say entries are conditional

Both Red Bull-backed teams are adamant this lunchtime that their entries to compete in Formula One in 2010 remain conditional, despite the FIA including them on their entry list without strings attached. Five FOTA teams were added to the FIA's list, subject to them lifting their entry conditions, while Red Bull, Toro Rosso and Ferrari were all granted 2010 entries without similar requisites.

Similar to Ferrari's insistence that its entry remains conditional, Red Bull and Toro Rosso have also confirmed that their entries submitted with the FIA on May 29th remain conditional. Rumours earlier this week suggested that the Red Bull teams had broken ranks with FOTA and submitted unconditional entries, however both teams subsequently denied the reports.

In separate statements, Red Bull and Toro Rosso said it remained committed to FOTA.

“Following the FIA's publication of the entry list for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, Red Bull Racing would like to make it clear that its entry was submitted as a conditional entry, consistent with those of all other FOTA members,” read Red Bull Racing's statement. “Red Bull Racing remains committed to FOTA and fully endorses all its principles.”
