Thu, 18 June, 2009Britain: Weekend weather forecast - rain possible

The weather is expected to be unsettled in Silverstone this weekend, as Formula One gathers for the final Grand Prix at the circuit for the forseeable future. After last year's washout at the venue, conditions were bright but partly cloudy as teams and drivers went about their media work in the paddock on Thursday, with rain remaining a possibility over the coming two days.

Tomorrow has a low chance of rain, but the skies are expected to remain cloudy from early morning. Temperatures will hit a high of 18°C, just over half that recorded in Istanbul a fortnight ago. At a chance of 20%, rain remains an outside possibility.

Rain is more likely to fall on Saturday, with a dry and bright morning forecast to be followed by a dull and wet afternoon. Whether or not the rain will come in time for qualifying at 13.00 is still up in the air, with temperatures set to high 18°C again.

Finally moving on to race-day on Sunday, clearer skies are forecast, with rain not currently expected. Temperatures will rise to a high of 19°C, making it the hottest day of the weekend.
