Ferrari is expected to confirm its driver line-up for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix at Monza within the next few hours, as speculation mounts over the identity of Kimi Räikkönen's team-mate for the final five rounds of the championship. Following two consecutively poor performances by Felipe Massa's temporary stand-in Luca Badoer, the Italian is expected to be replaced ahead of his home race. Favourite for the seat is Force India's Giancarlo Fisichella, who is expected to be hired for the race seat before signing a contract to become the team's test driver from 2010 should he fail to secure a race drive elsewhere on the grid. Fisichella's move was believed to be hitched on Massa not returning this year, and with that now all but confirmed the Italian is likely to find himself at the wheel of the F60 in Monza. Other names linked to the seat include BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica, Force India reserve driver Vitantonio Liuzzi and Williams reserve driver Nico Hülkenberg, while there is also said to be a chance for Badoer to keep his seat. But with Ferrari looking for both cars to score points as they look to beat rivals McLaren in the constructors' championship the Italian's time has likely passed. Manipe F1 will keep you up to date with all developments regarding Ferrari's Monza line-up throughout the day. | |||
