We, the undersigned, request the FIA and FOM that serious consideration is given to reinstate the Canadian Grand Prix for 2009, or failing that, request that all effort is made to return the race to the F1 calendar for 2010.

Furthermore, we request that future decisions to remove Grands Prix from the calendar are made not only for the commercial interest of the sport, but also in the sporting interest.

SuAhUSASoon F1 will be like a communist organization! We need to stop this and make F1 more appealing. Steps like canceling and threatening organizations is not going to popularize the sport.
Emma BracegirdleManchester, UKI'm 16 and I've been watching the Canadian GP since I was about 5 or 6 years old. It's one of the best races on the calendar and has always been a thrill to watch with some of, if not the most passionate fans of the sport present there. What's more, the Canadians have worked so hard to make sure that it's a fitting tribute to Gilles Villeneuve, undoubtedly one of the best drivers F1 has ever seen. Removing the race is an insult to his memory and the legacy he's left behind, not to mention the hard work and many millions of dollars that's gone into upgrading and maintaining the track over the last 30 years. I know you can't please eveyone Bernie, but not listening to the masses' wishes is already costing you in the popularity stakes - carry on and the whole sport could come crashing down the way you're going at the moment.

mike muellerOhio - USANorth America has more than enough fans to sustain one or maybe two GP's in North America. The Montreal circuit is amazing, do not axe it. You will have all the money and support you need to host it, just like usual.
Reg LauzonCanadaAs a retired Honda Dealer, The Grand Prix is the most prestigious event in Canada.
Rick KapplerusaF1 is becoming to much of a spec series
Justin NeumeyerVancouver, CanadaNot only is the Course very exciting to watch, but it gives Canada World recognition in the world of motorsports.
John G. SticeLouisville, Kentucky, USATaking away venues such as Canadian GP and the USGP is a slap in the face of the fans which is the soul of Formula One not just nations that can afford to pay the FIA to have their own GP races such as Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.
Debrah FitzsimmonsToronto, OntYOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING ME! NO F1.. GIVE ME A BREAK.
Blair MaltmanToronto, OntWHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE THINKING.
Robert J. WrightCamden SC USANorth America still wants f1. I think 3M might consider sponsoring a package that includes Montreal,Mexico, and Monteray! Face it nascar is boring the hell out of folks these days and open wheel racing here just does not compare to the spectacle of F1.This market is ripe and with the right investment could prove to be huge for the future of the sport.

PETE LAZARROMTL,QUEBECBernie Ecclestone don't love race fans and history even after 30 years for him it is nothing and we(the fans)helped him to grow up FOM since all those years. Now we know only business and money are interesting to him like the subprime in U.S.A AND NOW WATCH WHAT'S HAPPENED to uncle SAM's country. But at 78 years old of age it is about time than FOM need someone logical to take control in a brand new economic world wide money crisis.

JC BoutrosCalgary It is with great surprise that the manufacturers would agree to the cancellation of the CDN GP. Clearly history, the love of the sport, support of it's fans, long term peripheral commercial viability means nothing to F1 Administration.

Juan Antonio ContrerasCanadaI for one will boycot f1 and throw my money at some other car racing sport! Montreal was one of the best races in the calendar and a complete mistake to take off! Oh and for what it is worth, the next car i buy wont be wont be influenced by the car brands running in F1.If i can't see how your vehicle performs i can't buy it, sorry, i might even end up buying an american car next time around.
Sam HerrmannOttawa, CanadaThe game is over guys! Mayor Gérald Tremblay confirmed this afternoon (Nov. 16,2008), that there wount be a Grand Prix next year. Read more about it here... http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/story.html?id=6c9296da-2d23-4e85-8d30-2445c46d3063

Ian WilliamsVancouver, CanadaMy father took me to my first GP when I was 10. I truly hope I can do the same for my kids one day - in Canada. One of the most enoyable events on the circuit. A global event needs a North american presence and you will not find a better location than Montreal. Bernie, it can't be all about the money!

Selma HamdaniMontreal The Grand Prix has always been a successful event. A lot of business will be lost as a result of its annulment. This is not a logical decision.
Nayan DhanakMelrose, MA, USAPlease reinstate the only North American F1 race, as this is the only opportunity that millions of F1 fans in the USA and Canada have to see the amazing spectacle in person. Thanks
Brian PetersToronto, CanadaMaybe, with standardized engines, the F1 group will be able to join the CART group, and they would gain tremendous exposure across North America, the largest market for the manufacturers. The idea of standardized engines in F1 goes against the very heart and soul of F1. F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle. If manufacturers and sponsors want to spend their money on F1, let them.

Travis MehrerMedicine Hat, AB, CanadaLove watching F1 and especially the Canadian Grand Prix. Wouldn't be the same without a North American stop!
Tony WoodwardOttawa, CanadaEveryone (especially the drivers, who after all count for most if yu actually want a series) love the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, and shame on FIA for dumping this in favour of borefests like Valencia and Singapore. If you really want to drop a traditional race then drop Monaco which has been a total bore since time immemorial because nobody can overtake anywhere. Tradition is the only reason it is still there and the public is yawning in indifference. If you really want tradition then bring back the Coppa Acerbo (aka the Pescara GP) or the Tunisian GP, and restore the Nurburgring to its true length and its true glory. F1 is just glorified Karting these days on these piddly little circuits.

Mark CappitellaEast Haddam, ConnecticutThe Canadian GP has been an annual pilgrimage for me since 2001. 8 Races now, and every one of them an amazing time. Not only at the track, where the view of the cars at the hairpin is wonderful, with the city skyline in the background, but also the people of Montreal. I feel very welcome in Montreal. The city is so alive with energy, excitment and great times during F1 week. The Many many fine restaurants, bars, sites to see during the evening, and live music... just fantastic. The thought of not having this wonderful experience in June 2009, or any year there after, would be very sad for all of the hundreds of thousands of people who enjoy the festivities of this wonderful race!
